Alo everybody

Our little boy has finally arrived and on the date that he was supposed to. I think that he get’s that from me as Nisha is always late for everything.

We got into the hospital at 1am on the 21st after Nisha’s water broke at home around quarter to twelve. She was feeling slight contractions all day following up to the water breaking.

Neesh was having bad back pains up until the final stages, but only took some Panadeine forte and Pethadine to ease the pain. Seeing her go through this, made me feel even more helpless as all i could do was rub her back when the contractions came. Plus it didnt help that i got her into this mess in the first place.

Anyway, ten and half hours later little Nicholas was born weighing 3.3 kilos and measuring up to 49 cm tall, with a head full of black hair. I’ve never seen so much hair on a little baby. As soon as he popped out, he was scoping the place with his big eyes looking about at all these strange faces.

After watching this, I now have a new found respect for mother’s and women in general after watching the birth of my child. It’s such a surreal experience to watch this happen, I just cant explain the feeling that it brought me.

He hardly slept the 1st day, only getting 3 hours sleep. He mostly just lay there, eyes wide open looking at all the cooing grandparents, parents and other strange women that would stop past staring at his head full of hair.
