Nicholas had his heel release surgery for his Clubfoot today. We were admitted in to the Westmead Childrens hospital at 7:15am and he was operated on at 8:30am and we saw him in Recovery at 10am.

The surgeon was happy with the operation and Nicholas is sleepy but fine. He went under general anastetic and is still a bit sleepy. After a few feeds he was back to his old self again, smiling and kicking his legs about. Both his legs are in heavy plaster casts but he still manages to lift his legs and knock them together!

We have to keep his feet elevated to avoid any swelling which can be painful. He’s had a few doses of Panadol for pain, but he hates the taste!! He gives me the most terrible look when i give him his medicine!!

Anyway, speaking of medicine he’s due for dose #3 … here are some pics of my sleepy boy at home post-op.
